Katie is a retired public school teacher who has worked her whole career to support students and teachers in schools. She will make sure that education (not politics) is the top priority in our schools.
JUDICIARY
OHIO SUPREME COURT - CHIEF JUSTICE
Justice Brunner's vision is for a justice system in Ohio that operates with accountability, openness and fairness to all and that promotes access to justice; the Courts belong to the people.
Experience: As a former Ohio Secretary of State, Justice Brunner is the only candidate in the race with experience running a statewide office in Ohio and supervising local government activities in every county of the state. She has also served as an anti-corruption consultant in Serbia and as and election observer in Egypt for the U.S. Government.
OHIO SUPREME COURT JUSTICE
Each of the following candidates are running for a different term within the general division. You can vote for both of them.
Judge Zayas will represent all Ohioans equally, guided by the law and Constitution. She believes that "politics have no place in the courthouse. The job should be treated with impartiality and dignity"
Judge Jamison will preserve and strengthen the Court's Constitutionally granted status as an independent and co-equal branch of state government and ensure that equal justice under the law a reality for all Ohioans
GENERAL DIVISION
Each of the following candidates are running for a different term within the general division. You can vote for all of them.
Judge Heekin has honed his commission to equitable justice under the law. He is focused on finding alternative solutions to jailing certain offenders because locking everybody up for everything doesn't work.
Tom's entire legal career has been dedicated to the proposition that everyone deserves equal access to justice. He will work to bring back the mediation program to the common pleas court.
Judge Luebbers, guided by her experience, principles and compassion is a judge for the people who is passionate about her job and wants to keep doing good work and make a difference in people's lives.
Bernie has criminal defense attorney advocating for the most marginalized in our society for nearly 30 years. On the bench, he will protect the integrity of the process, demystify the courts and be a neutral arbiter of the law.
DOMESTIC RELATIONS DIVISION
Anne's entire legal career has been in Domestic Relations helping families get where they need to be. As Judge, she will work to improve transparency and access to the court so that it works for those that need it.
Manisha has been mediating, negotiating and litigating family law cases in Hamilton County for over 25 years. She is entrenched with the Court of Domestic Relations and the laws under which it operates.
